DIEP Emmen is the cultural centre for visual arts and creative development in Emmen. The organisation grew out of the former CBK Emmen and has developed into a contemporary meeting place where art, education and heritage come together. With an accessible and regional approach, DIEP aims to inspire residents and visitors through surprising exhibitions, art projects and creative activities.
The main location of DIEP is situated in Villa de Lindenhof. This distinctive villa is a striking national monument dating from 1936 and today forms the face of DIEP in the centre of Emmen. Villa de Lindenhof hosts changing exhibitions by professional artists, amateur artists and guest curators. Lectures, workshops and cultural activities are also organised here on a regular basis.
In addition to Villa de Lindenhof, DIEP has a second location in the Rensenpark, the former Emmen Zoo. This site mainly focuses on studios, workshops, educational projects and creative activities for both young and old. In the green and cultural heart of the Rensenpark, visitors can actively engage with art and creativity themselves. Activities regularly connect both locations, combining exhibitions in Villa de Lindenhof with workshops and studio sessions in the Rensenpark.
With this combination of a monumental exhibition villa and a creative studio location in the Rensenpark, DIEP Emmen plays an important cultural role in Southeast Drenthe. The organisation connects contemporary art with the stories, people and identity of the region and makes culture accessible to a wide audience.
