Airborne Museum at the Bridge - Arnhem
In September 1944, the final chapter of Operation Market Garden took place in Arnhem. Over 10,000 paratroopers tried to capture the bridge to force a rapid advance towards Germany. They did not succeed and the city and the bridge remained in the hands of German troops.
Airborne at the Bridge recounts the fierce fighting at the Rhine Bridge, with its protagonist, the world-famous John Frost Bridge, in the background. Together with what you discover at Airborne Museum Hartenstein, the whole story of the Battle of Arnhem is told.
On the aforementioned John Frost Bridge, you will also find the John Frost Monument and a small memorial site.
