The Lammeken 'and' In de Struijs', together The Scottish Houses, remind us of the centuries-long trade relations that Veere has maintained with Scotland. This Veers-Scottish relationship came about because Veere became the depot for Scottish goods in 1541. The buildings are a beautiful example of the Gothic in its last bloom. In the 19th century, The Scottish Houses were protected from demolition and decay by private individuals. Thanks to their donations, a museum has been located in the buildings since 1950.
