Already in 1640 stood on this place a mill, but whether that exactly this one is, is not known. Mill Ter Leede is a typical wip mill. The whole top is turnable with this kind of mills. From old times were these mills used to pump the polders dry when these threatened to flood.

Also mill Ter Leede ensured for dry polders, until the upper shaft in 1940 broke and the mill into decay fell. After a number of changes of owner and restorations is the mill since 2017 again active.

The mill is also a holiday home.
