Burgundian cycle route around Oss
Oss, Geffen, Macharen
Oss is not only a beautiful historic centre, it is the perfect base to taste the local flavours. During this cycling route, you taste all the goodies produced in Oss and surroundings.
Oss lies on the edge of the unique nature reserve De Maashorst. An enchanting landscape full of dark coniferous forests, purple heath, marshy pools and fens. Large grazers also graze here, such as the Wisent, Tauros and Exmoor pony.
De Maashorst is also known for its cherry cultivation. The farmers in De Maashorst have been growing the Udense sweet cherry for decades. Other cherry varieties, such as the Hedelfinger cherry, the Inspecteur Löhnis, the Early Rivers, the Mierlose black cherry and the Varik black cherry are also widely grown in this area.
Fruit or honey from the Landerij van Tosse, a special Maashorst sausage roll from a local baker, flour from the mill or fresh dairy and meat from Spierings farm… you will taste it all today. Of course, you can complete your Burgundian experience with a craft beer from the Speciaalbierbrouwerij in Oijen.
